If you've always been tempted by Virgin Media's superfast fibre broadband, but have been put off from paying more than £30 a month, then we have some VERY good news for you. Virgin has just launched a new internet plan – VIVID 50 – that costs only £26 per month.
Ordinarily, we'd be concerned that you might have to make some serious compromises to get such a cheap deal. But thankfully this new Virgin broadband offer still offers the rapid broadband speeds that have become a hallmark of the brand. VIVID 50 goes at up to 50Mb, which is much faster than the entry-level fibre broadband provided by the likes of TalkTalk, Plusnet and Sky broadband.
Below, we have more information about VIVID 50 so you can decide whether it's the home broadband package for your household. And if you want more options, use TechRadar's bespoke fibre broadband comparison chart to see how Virgin Media compares to the rest and double-check whether it's available where you live.
Virgin Media VIVID 50 fibre broadband
Virgin VIVID 50 | 12 months | Up to 50Mb | £20 upfront | £26pm
At £32 per month, we can see why you may have been put off by Virgin Media's broadband prices. But its new entry-level package now makes Virgin one of the cheapest – and still fastest – fibre broadband providers on the market. 50Mb equates to around 6.25MB per second, which is plenty fast enough for smooth streaming and rapid downloading. And it's unlimited, too – so you don't have to keep track on how much data you're using through the month. Total cost of 12 months £332

Existing Virgin Media broadband customers
Virgin Media tends to increase its prices after you've been with them for a year. So if you're already a Virgin broadband customer, we suggest that you check with customer services before trying to place your order.
Virgin TV and Phone
Pay an extra £3 per month, and you can add a phone line to your Virgin Media broadband plan. This includes Talk Weekends – unlimited weekend calls to UK landlines and Virgin Mobile numbers.
At the moment, you can't add Virgin TV to VIVID 50 (you can if you upgrade to VIVID 100 or higher), so you'll have to subscribe to any TV channels you want separately.
